DiagnosisThe doctor will examine your body to reveal lesions and joint soreness or tenderness. Some tests they may do is a Skin Biopsy, to detect antibody deposits on the skin, or an Urinalysis(they take a sample of your urine to examine, they use it to detect Hematuria and Proteinuria). You could also need a kidney biopsy to determine the involvement of your kidneys and the health of them.

TreatmentsThere is no known treatment of HSP, to get rid of the rash and stop your immune system from attacking itself. It normally will go away within 14 days. Even though you cannot treat HSP itself, you can treat the symptoms. The joint pain is normally treated with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (or aspirin/ibuprofen). The doctors may also prescribe you a corticosteroid-it will reduce swelling and limit the immune system-for your joint pain and abdominal pain. For men, if their testicles have swollen, in rare cases, they may need surgery to treat it. People suffering from kidney failure or problems may be put on a corticosteroid or an immunosuppressive-prevent the immune system from making antibodies- medication. Even after your symptoms clear up, you may need to give urine samples up to six months after to make sure your kidneys are working properly.
